Top 5 Beauty Retail Apps on Android in Africa, Q3 2021

Throughout the third quarter of 2021, the top beauty retail applications on the Android platform in Africa showed varied performance in terms of downloads, active users, and revenue. Here, we take a closer look at the trends for the top five beauty retail apps: Bath&BodyWorks, FOREO For You, Mazaya Stores, Korean Beauty Iq, and Think Dirty.

Bath&BodyWorks experienced a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, starting with approximately 2.4K at the beginning of the quarter and peaking at 3.7K in early August. By the end of September, downloads stabilized around 2.5K. Active users also showed an upward trend, growing from roughly 2.3K to a peak of 5K in mid-August, and closing the quarter at 4.8K.

FOREO For You saw a steady number of weekly downloads, averaging around 700 downloads per week with minor fluctuations. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging from approximately 2.1K to 2.8K throughout the quarter.

Mazaya Stores had a modest increase in weekly downloads, starting at 369 and reaching a high of 878 by the end of September. This indicates a growing interest in the app over the quarter.

Korean Beauty Iq experienced modest download numbers, beginning with 160 and peaking at 304 in early August. However, downloads declined towards the end of the quarter, dropping to 95 by late September.

Think Dirty had an interesting trajectory with downloads peaking at 880 in the first week of July, followed by a significant drop and fluctuating numbers for the rest of the quarter. Active users showed a gradual decline from 1.6K in early July to 1.4K by the end of September.
